St. George’s Creation Caretakers is a watershed discipleship group.

This is an approach to environmental stewardship that allows us to focus on the wellbeing of the place where we live (our watershed) as part of the response to the crisis of climate change.

We have been engaged in efforts to save significant wetlands in Ajax-Pickering along with Environmental Action Now Pickering-Ajax and have joined together with the Green Team of St. Martin’s Bay Ridges, a neighbouring Anglican parish. It is rewarding to work in partnership with these other groups. We also write letters and carry out other activities to raise awareness about issues of concern with respect to our environment.

We hold outdoor worship services to pray for the land as part of our baptismal promise to safeguard the integrity of creation.

Our meetings are currently held on Zoom and the best way to learn about upcoming activities is to be on our parish email list (sign up below) or watch the St. George’s Facebook page.

If you would like more information, we would be happy to talk with you.
