The Social Committee began as the Fundraising Committee. We did events such as the strawberry social and special dinners and dances. We didn’t raise huge amounts of money, but we did enhance the social life of our parish. After a great deal of thought we realized that we should become the FUNraising Committee, rather than just the FUNDraising Committee. We do sell tickets to some events, but this is not about making a financial profit. Ticket sales let us know how much food to buy, without excluding anyone.

We try to have some events for families and some for adults only. Of course, the adults are part of families, too! Family events include such things as strawberry socials, picnics, corn roasts and potluck lunches. Examples of adult events are dinners, dances and pub night. Dinners and dances have ranged from gala events to potluck dinner/dances with music played on a boom box.

We welcome new members of our committee, and we also welcome new ideas. We are aware that some people do not have time to make meetings, but may enjoy participating in specific events. Help is always welcome.
