LABYRINTH HAPPENINGS! The St. George’s LABYRINTH is a 7-circuit modified Chartres design consisting of inlaid tile and metal strips on the floor of the Worship Centre. It is an ancient pathway of contemplation, meditation and spiritual renewal. The Reverend Eiko Hosaka and others from the Malvern Emmanuel United Church enjoyed our labyrinth so much on their first visit that they attended a second time. They were very complimentary about our spiritual space and the ministry we offer in this regard.
MEDITATION GROUP: The St. George’s meditation group met weekly all year with 40-50 people, from our own parish and others in the community, being spiritually nourished each month. Throughout the year we continued listening to talks by Laurence Freeman, John Main and Reverend Glenda Meakin. Glenda’s graceful style of weaving Gospel stories into every day events in her talks entitled “Listening to the Daily News with a Contemplative Heart” were most inspiring. Newcomers are always welcome to join in and learn how to meditate – we are all beginners – each time we sit to meditate it is a new experience in the presence of God. Daytime meditation is also offered at Peace Lutheran Church every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at 10.00 a.m. and all are welcome to attend. Introductory sessions are available on request.
