Did you know that we collect gift tray items monthly for our yearly Christmas donations to LOFT? We always require: soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotions, tea and coffee (travel size, hotel brands welcome).

June – all things for men such as deodorant, playing cards, puzzle, shoe laces, books, sunglasses
May – lady’s items such as jewelry, make-up, perfume, small purses, scarves, sunglasses and deodorant

Our History
HOPE Lives where Housing, Support and Community Come Together
In 1953, a small group of Anglicans decided to merge two youth programs and put in place an new organization – an independent registered charity – that would be able to grow and respond to emerging needs of the day. Anglican Houses was born, and over the next three decades welcomed into its fold four more housing-based projects, adding adults and seniors to the scope of its clients.
The organization has continued to open its doors to new programs, but since the 1980s its approach has been proactive, responding to major social changes, identifying unmet needs and developing innovative programs to support each new client group.
Programs now include a wide range of services for those with mental health and addiction challenges, those living on the street, those with HIV disease, programs for homeless seniors, community support services and an ever growing roster of supportive housing sites.
Throughout our history, we have often been the first — and sometimes the only — group to answer the needs of many of the most under-served and vulnerable members of our community.
Today, as LOFT Community Services, we continue to go where the need is, serving people in a non-judgemental way. LOFT is the largest organization of its type in Ontario, and the province’s most diverse supportive housing provider. We offer specialized programs that reach some 4,000 vulnerable and marginalized youth, adults and seniors with special focus on those with mental and physical health and substance abuse issues. We have a wide range of mental health and addiction services teams, over 800 supportive housing units at more than 70 sites in Toronto and York Region, community support teams serving more than 1,800 clients and a large street outreach program.
Tomorrow and into the future, LOFT will continue to grow and change in response to the urgent needs of the time, developing programs and services that carry forward our values and our Leap of Faith philosophy.
