Outreach at St. George's Anglican Church


"Knitting pneumonia vests and teddy bears for children in third world countries."

PNEUMONIA VESTS & TEDDY BEARS – During the week of May 17th, 2010, 225 knitted vests, 61 teddy bears and 2 baby blankets will be delivered to the ‘Not Just Tourists’ organization to be sent overseas to children in very poor areas. The vests help protect the children from potentially fatal illnesses, and the teddies bring joy to a child who otherwise has no toys. Several women and friends of St. George’s work tirelessly year-round on this wonderful outreach project, and several shipments go out each year.

COMPLEMENTARY COMMUNITY LUNCH
will be offered on August 19th from 11:30 through 1 p.m.
Come on out and enjoy soup and a sandwich in our parish hall. All welcome.

GIFT TRAYS – Once again we will be putting together special gift trays for the 2010 holiday season, to be given to LOFT Community Services, a Faithworks recipient. While travelling on vacation this summer, if you would collect the small shampoos, soaps, fragrances, etc. from hotel visits, we would very much appreciate it. These items will become part of the gift trays.
