With the unfolding news of the Corona virus COVID-19, and as our leaders
urge us to stay home, we understand that doing so is how we are called, in this
moment, to care for one another, for neighbours far and near, and to take
responsibility for our own well-being.

This is hard on the heart and soul, especially when we cannot gather for
worship. So how do we remain connected to one another, and faithful in common
prayer in such a time as this? Praying for one another binds us together as a
community in Christ. And thanks to the gift of technology we can gather as a
virtual community for prayer and worship. In these ways we can continue to pray
for our community and our world in this critical time. Our prayers are needed.

So how do we pray together as a community?

I encourage you to keep up your own daily prayer at home. I know that
many of you already have a daily devotional practice. Thank you!  Morning and evening prayer are printed in full
in our prayer books; if you would like a copy of the either the BCP or the BAS
let us know and we will get one to you. Do you need a Bible? That can be
provided as well. Our intercessors will be preparing prayers of the week for
us. These will be distributed by email on a weekly basis. You can add your
concern or a name to the list by sending it to the office email at stegeorgesajax@gmail.com.

The prayer team is available by contacting Rev. Marilyn for emergency
prayer requests. rev.marilynmetcalfe@gmail.com

Here at St. George’s, we will be offering daily prayer through Facebook
live:

  • 8 am – a brief time of prayer with a
short reflection to start your day.
  • 8:30 pm – Compline (Night Prayer) at
    8:30 pm.
  • SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP – 10 am

Times don’t work for you? These services will stay on the Facebook page,
so you can watch them at a more convenient time.

NOTE: you don’t have to be a member of Facebook to access these services. And you will find them posted on the Streamed Services page of our website.

The church is closed but the phone still works. Do not hesitate to be in
touch. I welcome your calls at any time. Is there anything you need? Happy to
help with that as well. (705-886-0057) And remember – check in on each other
when you can. We need to draw together in this challenging time – in prayer and
in love.

May God abide with us in our prayers.
